"We SO enjoyed our stay at the Cliff Dwellers from 19-21st. The room was perfect. The breakfast was outstanding! The view was spectacular! Wish we could have stayed longer. And the owner/staff were exceptionally accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend it and staying on the upper floor was a plus as far as the view from our room and balcony."

"We stayed at The Cliff Dweller for many years in the early 1990's. In fact this was the only place we'd stay at while skiing Lutsen. We were crushed when we tried to book a few years ago and found Cliff Dweller closed for the winter.
On a fluke, we tried to book again this year and found Cliff Dweller open in the winter again!!
We stayed March 22/23 at the Cliff Dweller while again skiing Lutsen.
The staff is more than friendly and helpful, they are very concerned about your experience while at the North Shore.
We cannot rave enough about the service we received while staying here ...................... THANK YOU CLIFF DWELLER !!"

"My friends and I stayed three nights at The Cliff Dweller and we were very happy with our stay. The nice room with the great view was fantasic. The continental breakfast had a great selection of food to choose from along with the soothing loon music to top it all off :) We went snowboarding at Lutsen which wasn't too bad of a drive the Saturday and Sunday. My friends and I would definitely stay again!

"This is my place to stay when I come to the North Shore. The lake view out my balcony makes me smile every day. The waves at night rock me to sleep. Attractive, clean rooms run by friendly owners. Everything is close by. 5 minutes to Lutsen, 5 minutes to Bluefin, 20 minutes to Grand Marais. As soon as I step into my room, I'm relaxed."

"We have always enjoyed our stay at Cliffdweller's BW. We look forward to the soothing crashing of the the waves, lulling us into a restful sleep. The photo op for the sunrise is worth rising early for and don't get us started praising the breakfast. Unfortunately we will not enjoy our middle of winter stay because of closing for the winter. While it is understandable due to this economy, it will only whet our appetite for spring. Thank you Cliffdweller BW and staff for always making our stay something to look forward to."

"I have been to Cliff Dweller twice now, and this January 7-9, will be going back for my birthday. I love it. Beautiful view of lake superior, super super nice staff/owner(i think). Great breakfast, with a great view to bird watch. Last yr. a family member bought me a ski/stay package at Lutsen resort which was $100 more per person then cliff Dweller, and i was unsatisfied with the staff/service/price etc. with the other location. That is why i keep going back to CLIFF DWELLER. Thanks, see ya soon!"

"We have stayed at the Cliff Dweller for our vacation for each of the past three years. Each time we were treated with the kindest of hospitality. The views of Lake Superior from each and every room is breathtaking and we have never been disappointed with our rooms. Each has been exceptionally clean and the staff is more than accomidating. The complimentary breakfast is more than anyone could expect with home baked muffins and the best cheese omelet squares I think we have ever had! The motel is located in the heart of some of the best hiking trails and scenic views. We will be staying at the Cliff Dweller again this year for sure!"

"The Northshore has been Heaven for my entire family for years on end now; there is just no place any of us would rather be. Staying at Cliff Dweller is our special treat! The whole gang (Buddy too!) up there makes us feel so welcomed. Even sharing Christmas with them one year, has been one of our favorite memories and we hope to build many more as the seasons change & years fly by. I always look forward to my special 'girltime' with daughter & granddaughter, at Cliff Dweller, enjoying The Fishermen's Picnic in Grand Marais. No matter when we come or with whom - we are so blessed. We'd never stay anywhere else; Cliff Dweller's rooms, all with balconies on the Lake, simply take your breath away. Breakfast, a game of table checkers or chess, fireplace room for reading, Community places that are just downright hospitable & cozy. "Needed a place to stay at a moment's notice (we were in the car driving in that direction). They quickly found an open room for us, booked us over the phone and made sure to give us all the info we might need about our stay as well as how to get our keys since the front desk would be closed by the time we got there. Very lovely spotlessly clean room. Soft sheets, comfy bed, and beautiful lake view when we woke up. Breakfast was provided at no charge. It wasn't fancy, but there were a lot of options and it tasted good and we appreciated not having to get all packed up to check out before driving somewhere to get breakfast at a restaurant. Conveniently located right on highway 61 near Lutsen and easy driving distance to Grand Marais or Silver Bay. New owners are very friendly, rates are very reasonable and we look forward to staying there again."

"My fiancé and I stayed up beginning of March, 2017. They had just gotten new owners the week before and we spent some time with them in the dining room just chit chatting for about an hour! They are awesome and can't wait to see what they do with the place! The place is perfect! First night the waves were insane. Thought the water was going to come up to the balcony! My favorite place to stay on the shore!!!"
